Move over, men. The women’s basketball teams from both BYU and Utah will be the lone representatives from the Beehive State to participate in the Big Dance this March.
Utah made its way to the NCAA Tournament after a strong performance in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament, in which the sixth-seeded Utes scored wins over Cal, Washington State, and Oregon before falling to Stanford in the title game.
As a 7-seed, the Utes will head to Spokane to face 10-seed Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
BYU, also found its way into the Big Dance as an at-large bid. The Cougars, who were ranked in the Top 25 nearly all season, were defeated in the championship game of the West Coast Conference tournament by Gonzaga earlier in the week.
Led by All-American Shaylee Gonzalez, BYU will begin its tournament run as a 6-seed against 11-seed Villanova
