A seven-round NFL mock draft by profootballnetwork.com is predicting a relatively busy time to keep the telephone lines clear in Utah. Analyst A.J. Schulte has five players with Utah ties getting calls from the NFL during the Draft, which is scheduled for April 29-May 1.
Headlining the list is BYU quarterback Zach Wilson. He’s projected to go No. 2 overall to the New York Jets.
“This pick is where the draft really starts. As of right now, two scenarios in my mind happen here. Scenario A is the Jets taking Zach Wilson. It seems pretty clear at this stage that he will be the second quarterback off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft,” Schulte writes. “The Jets have plenty of ammunition to build around him, and he fits the San Francisco 49ers’ scheme that Robert Saleh and his staff will be implementing. Scenario B is the Jets trding down to build around Sam Darnold.”
Since Schulte said he’s avoiding possible trades in this early forecast, however, profootballnetwork.com is going with scenario A.

No. 5 (Bengals): PENEI SEWELL, OT, Oregon (Desert Hills HS)
No. 48 (Raiders): JAY TUEFELE, DT, USC (Bingham HS)
No. 95 (Chiefs): BRADY CHRISTENSEN, OT, BYU (Bountiful HS)
